CT5-V Blackwing AuxJection Testing: 76% Ethanol Content & a Stock Low Side

|Caleb Wisher

Nobody asked us to combine the smallest upper pulley available, 76% ethanol content, and a stock low side fuel system.

So naturally, we did.

This weekend Wisher Performance was out at Muncie Dragway for the Street Car Racewars event with our own CT5-V Blackwing. The goal wasn't about just chasing a number. We wanted to collect real data on the Global B platform and see how AuxJection behaves when the factory fuel system starts getting pushed hard.

Same Track, Same Night

While the focus of this test was our CT5-V Blackwing, Diego’s Wisher Performance tuned Escalade-V was also out making passes with us at Muncie Dragway.

Since Caleb tuned both vehicles, it made a fun comparison to line the Blackwing up against another Wisher Performance tuned setup.

Escalade Setup:

  • Cam
  • Heads
  • Headers
  • Full exhaust
  • Full ethanol
  • Kong ported stock blower
  • Aggressive pulley ratio

It also runs a one-off custom version of AuxJection due to the constraints of his setup and available engine bay room. This is not the same as the standard production AuxJection hardware kit currently available on the site.

That night, the Escalade-V went 10.93 @ 129 MPH in the 1/4 mile.

For added context, Diego's Escalade-V currently sits at the top of the Dragy Escalade-V leaderboard with a previous 10.76 documented 1/4 mile pass.

The CT5-V Blackwing Setup

For this round of testing, we made a few changes to the Blackwing to help answer future questions about AuxJection capability.

Current setup:

  • AuxJection
  • 2.175 upper pulley
  • NW103 throttle body
  • JLT 5 inch intake
  • Stock low side fuel system
  • 76% ethanol content

With these changes, the Blackwing went 10.98 @ 132 MPH in the 1/4 mile, still on stock tires.

Caleb's CT5-V Blackwing: 10.98 @ 132 MPH vs. Diego's Escalade-V: 10.93 @ 129 MPH.

Previous Testing vs Current Testing

In previous Blackwing testing, we showed the 60-130 improving from 8.99 seconds stock to 7.93 seconds with only AuxJection, 65% ethanol content and ECM tune.

After adding the 2.175 upper pulley, NW103 throttle body, and JLT 5 inch intake, the Blackwing dropped almost another full second to 6.95 seconds 60-130, still on the stock TCM tune.

After additional trans tune, Caleb went back out and dropped it again to 6.72 seconds 60-130.

Dragy validated 6.72 second 60-130 MPH pass after additional trans tune.

That currently puts Wisher Performance’s CT5-V Blackwing at #3 on the Dragy CT5-V Blackwing leaderboard.

Stock Low Side Fuel System Testing

This is where the data gets interesting.

This setup is currently being tested with the stock low side fuel system on 76% ethanol content.

Low side pressure did drop to almost 45 psi down track, but AuxJection pressure compensation combined with the factory Global B wideband control kept the delivered EQ ratio in check.

The factory Global B wideband control and AuxJection are working together, and that is exactly what we wanted to validate.

Why We Test This Way

We test our own vehicles hard because we would rather answer these questions with real data than guess.

  • How far can the stock low side go?
  • What happens when ethanol content is high?
  • What happens when the car is pushed down track?
  • Can AuxJection compensate when pressure starts to drop?

This kind of testing gives us the answers before customers have to find them the hard way.

What’s Next?

We may have to put a better tire on this exact combo just to see what it is truly capable of.

For now, the early Global B testing is looking VERY promising.

Stay tuned. 😎
